I've been a Chief fan since the age of about 12 when my mother brought home an NFL bedroom set stating that "there were only two teams available honey..Green or Red.. I knew how much you hated Green and liked Red" Gawd...! Think about it! Right there I could have been a JETS fan! Anyhoo, been a fan ever since..and let me tell you, It ain't been easy :-)
The advent of the satellite and online technology allowed me to become one with the love of my youth. I joined AOL in 1992 and proceeded to find the message boards by '93 where I engaged in mindless banter with the likes of a certain Raider, Bronco, Charger & Seahawks fans.. there were 30 team boards and 6 divisional boards. Lots of good times were shared there over the course of the next few years and my fanaticism grew and grew. I began investigating how a web page worked in the post-Bono-Elliot-Indy fiasco and conceived the War Room in order to forget the horrific experience.
The War Room was implemented in June of '96 and it was a primitive hideous adventure. I was diligent tho and persevered in keeping my theme and created a unique experience for chief Fans.
The Chiefs War Room has never been flashy in design but a straight forward easy to navigate flat website rich with content and information.
The popularity of the Chiefs War Room through the years can largely be attributed for the following reasons. 1) It's historical content & 2) It's message board known as the Home Of The Chiefs Board or HOTCB.
HOTCB is a strong core of close knit Chiefs Fans who gather once a year for a shindig & a game. Within this core you will find some of the most knowlegable fans on the web.
Many of you can trace the roots of our friendship back to this time and it's been a pleasure knowing and serving you all thru the years.
